After discovering Powerlifting almost by accident in 1992 at the age of 17, I immediately fell in love with the sport.
During the last 31 years, I have been British Champion over 20 times and won European junior and open titles. I have also been in the top 3 at over 25 international championships.
The pinnacle of my powerlifting career came in 2009 when I won the IPF World Open Championships in India.
I also had the honour of being the first person to be inaugurated into the British Powerlifting Hall of Fame.
I currently still hold the World Masters 1 total record in the 120kg class, with a total of 1045kg.

I started powerlifting in 2019 at the age of 46 and after a long break of about 18 months I started training again in December 2022. In May 2023 I reached a huge milestone for me and squatted 100kg at the South Midlands competition without knowing what was on the bar.
In August 2023 I decided to try equipped lifting and absolutely love it. My first equipped competition was in November 2023 where I gained my qualifying total for the 2024 British Championships.
At my first Equipped British Championships in February 2024 I became M2 84+ British Champion. I’m now looking forward to competing at the European Masters Equipped in Luxembourg in May and am excited about the rest of 2024.

I joined a gym when I turned 40 because I wanted to be healthier and loose some weight, I then quickly found and fell in love with Powerlifting with the dream of representing Great Britain on the international stage.
Some years and a lot of weights lifted later, I realised my dream and continue to do so. My son is now getting into powerlifting and Fitness24 is 100% the best place for harbouring such a sport.

I’m a student athlete on the GBR team at only the age of 16. I have been training for under 2 years and still able to achieve my goals through hard work and determination.

I’m a massage therapist who started powerlifting 6 years ago…….. I hadn’t exercised since a teenager and once I had my family, I decided I should get fit. Luckily for me I met my now dear friend and coach Ellie Steel in 2018.
She introduced me to this amazing sport and my life has completely changed for the better. I feel more confident, consistently pushing myself to the point where I am now an international Masters lifter on the GB team. In 2022 I was invited to Sweden for the IPF European masters powerlifting competition following that, 5 months later being asked to Canada for the IPF world powerlifting competition.
I have never been so proud of myself making podium place on both occasions. I train with wonderful supportive people who are now friends but the biggest thing for me is that I think is that I’m setting a good and healthy example to my children and grandchildren!

After quitting football in 2020 I wanted to try a new sport and found out about an open day for girls at Gosport and Fareham rugby club. Before this I’ve never had any idea on how to play rugby and never imagined myself playing it.
I immediately fell in love with the sport after that and carried on playing at Gosport until I got scouted for Havant rugby club in 2022. I’m now vice captain and been at Havant for 2 years, I also played in Hampshire county and Egg chaser 7s for 1 year. I joined Fitness 24 in late 2022 because I wanted to become more powerful and stronger in order to get better at rugby.
I’ve now been accepted to Hartpury college to study sport and exercise science to pursuit rugby professionally and open my own physiotherapy in the future.
